Sikh soldiers abandons Unit In Indian Forces

Indian Army on Alert: Sikh Soldier’s Alleged Desertion and Khalistan Leader’s Pro-Pakistan Claim Raise Security Concerns

New Delhi, India – A recent case of an alleged Sikh soldier deserting his unit has sparked deep concern in the Indian Armed Forces, especially following a provocative statement by Gurpatwant Singh Pannun, leader of the banned Khalistani group Sikhs for Justice (SFJ).

In a widely circulated video, Pannun claimed that “2 crore Sikhs stand with Pakistan” and threatened that Punjab would not be allowed as a corridor for India’s military operations against Pakistan. His remarks have been condemned across the political and military spectrum as inflammatory and unrepresentative of the broader Sikh community.

This development comes amid reports that a Sikh soldier refused to serve and abandoned his post, allegedly expressing sympathies aligned with Pannun's views. While authorities are investigating the incident, it has triggered a wave of concern and disappointment within the ranks, prompting military officials to emphasize discipline and unity.

"These are isolated incidents. The Indian Armed Forces remain strong, united, and loyal to the nation. The Sikh community continues to serve with valor and integrity," a senior Defence Ministry source stated.
